Step down of UK Managing Director Ian Houldsworth

We hereby announce that Ian Houldsworth stepped down from his position as Managing Director in Sammic UK on December 31st 2013 after nearly 20 years of service.

Ian joined Sammic in 1994 following 13 years in the industry working with such companies as Gerard Gamble Ltd, Zanussi CLV Systems and Dawson MMP Ltd.  Ian started with Sammic Ltd as a Regional Sales Manager and quickly established himself as a key member of the Sammic team.

"I am delighted to have spent these years with this great company and am very proud of what my Sammic team has accomplished in that time.  We have managed to achieve double-digit growth consistently in the last 3 years and more specifically, in ware-washing and vacuum packing we have enjoyed 59% and 39% growth respectively in just the last 12 months, which is a triumph during these challenging times.  I believe that now is the right time for me to move on as the Company is performing well, even exceeding expectations.  It is operationally sound, positioned for continued growth and we have put the foundations in place that will guide Sammic UK for many years to come, and this gives me great confidence in its future success.”

Ian will however, still be active in the industry as he admits it will be hard to stop working entirely;  despite what his wife would like, he intends to stay in touch with the industry and hopes to continue to work on a part-time basis offering experience, knowledge and organisational abilities to small companies that might benefit.
